Beyoncé, MJB, Rihanna and others record charity single!

>>>
Some of the biggest female singers on the planet have gotten together to record vocals for a star-studded single called "Just Stand Up," benefiting the Stand Up to Cancer campaign. The unprecedented gathering features vocals from Mariah Carey, Beyoncé, Mary J. Blige, Rihanna, Fergie, Sheryl Crow, Miley Cyrus, Melissa Etheridge, Ashanti, Natasha Bedingfield, Keyshia Cole, Ciara, Leona Lewis, LeAnn Rimes and Carrie Underwood. The tune is being produced by the powerhouse duo of Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds and Antonio "L.A." Reid, who are working together for the first time in nearly 20 years on the track.

The song will be available for purchase exclusively on iTunes on September 2 and will get its TV premiere on September 5 during the live "Just Stand Up" special, which will air simultaneously and commercial-free on CBS, ABC and NBC. According to a press release announcing the project, the song was conceived by Reid, the chairman of the Island Def Jam Music Group, after a meeting with the women behind the Stand Up to Cancer campaign.

EXCLUSIVE: Beyoncé - The Singles In Spanish (Album)

This exciting Oh Hell Yes! Exclusive is another compilation album that I have compiled from the spectacular Beyoncé.

Titled The Singles In Spanish, this Beyoncé album includes Spanglish remixes of all her B'DAY hits: "Deja Vu", "Ring the Alarm", "Irreplaceable", "Beautiful Liar", and "Get Me Bodied".

The first two tracks are Spanish-English remixes, while the third track is a full Spanish remix by Beyoncé's language coach Rudy Perez. The fourth track is the original version of "Beautiful Liar" which is a Beyoncé solo in Spanglish. Finally, the fifth track is the Timbaland remix featuring Spanish vocals by Voltio.

Unexpected has leaked... poor Michelle :/

I am really upset for Destiny's Child alum Michelle Williams!

Right before her album was supposed to be released this past Tuesday, August 12th, her record label announces its pushback to October 7th. Then, a few days ago, her whole album leaks... I feel terrible for Michelle!

This whole pushback is bullshit and it's a damn shame that such a solid effort as Unexpected had to be delayed and leaked.

I don't know what Michelle's gonna do now, but I sure hope all this crap doesn't effect her sales in October. The album is really a great dance record and Michelle sounds awesome on the tracks.

Her best bet may be to record some new tracks for the October 7th release of Unexpected, because how are people going to still be checking for it in 2 months? I mean, I know I'll be buying it, but in all honesty, with the whole album leaked two months before its release, how can Michelle's team make sure that there is something special to draw people to the album?

She's gonna have to do something, and it's a damn shame because this album is solid and needs no additions... but I have faith that Michelle's gonna come through and give us something truly "Unexpected" and full of talent.

Good luck, girl! Oh Hell Yes! has got your back!

Pre-Order Solange's New Album on iTunes!

Be sure to pre-order SoL-AngeL and the Hadley Street Dreams album from Solange Knowles on iTunes, due August 26th!

>>> Pre-Order on iTunes <<<

The only odd thing is that the "iTunes Pre-Order Only Exclusive" song is "ChampagneChroniKnightcap" which is going to be released on AmazonMP3 just one week before this release, so....? I just don't get it. I guess we'll see how this all pans out.

"ChampagneChroniKnightcap" to be Solange's next single?

Contrary to my belief that "SandCastle Disco" was going to be the follow-up single to Solange's "I Decided", it seems that AmazonMP3 has a listing for a single called "ChampagneChroniKnightcap" featuring Lil Wayne.

Set to be released 1 week from now (which is 1 week from the release of Solange's full album, SoL-AngeL and the Hadley Street Dreams), the track should be pretty hot, considering Solange's funky new style and Lil Wayne's rapping talent.

Check out the album cover art above... I am loving it!

To hear a preview of the song, click HERE to visit AmazonMP3's listing for the track.

I guess we'll see what happens when Solange premieres a new music video on FNMTV this Friday, August 15 on MTV... but for which song will the video be?

Beyoncé referenced in Lil Wayne song

In Lil Wayne's new song "Comfortable", none other than the Queen B herself is referenced in the song. Her lyrics to "Irreplaceable" as well as that album's title B'Day is referred to in the song by the rapper Lil Wayne.

I think it's pretty cool when artists refer to other artists in their songs. And I especially love it when it's Beyoncé.

South African artist Lira speaks about 'Girlfriends' Soundtrack

Sultry jazz singer Lira was puzzled when she was given the cold shoulder last Friday night in the SABC1 promo announcing the new season of the Girlfriends series.

The promo in question goes on to mention Angie Stone, India Arie, Chaka Khan, Jill Scott, Erikah Badu, Corinne Bailey Rae, Mary J. Blige, Persia White, Dre, Algebra, Estelle and Amy Winehouse, on the Girlfriends soundtrack.

Yet it ignores Lira, the only local girl among the international stars.

Simone Berger, head of the SABC promo division, says she is unaware of the oversight.

“If Lira is on the soundtrack and there is no mention of that I agree that she would have been surprised,” Berger says, promising to take it up. “I appreciate your bringing this to my attention.”

Lira says: “I saw the promo but didn’t know who to ask what the issue was. Some things are worth fighting for.

“Whatever the situation, the song is on the soundtrack and is about to make the international soundtrack. I should have been celebrated but it really takes nothing from me.”
