Tequila Named Top 5 Food Trend by Pinterest Top 100

The results are in! According to the just-released Pinterest Top 100 list, tequila  was the most sought after spirit for cocktail recipes – beating out vodka! No longer your salt and shot occasion, tequila is more mature, more refined.

In 2015, Sauza® 901® Tequila, the co-branded partnership between Sauza® Tequila and Justin Timberlake, wants to remaster your cocktail order with these unique tequila alternatives on classic cocktails.

Moscow Mule
In the New Year, try a “Mexican Mule” that uses tequila to kick things up a notch, in a good way.

Mexican Mule
·         1 part Sauza® 901® Tequila
·         2 parts ginger beer
·         Juice of ½ lime

Preparation: Combine Sauza® 901® Tequila and lime juice in a highball glass. Add ice. Pour ginger beer into glass. Garnish with fresh lime wedge.

Cosmopolitan
This time around, consider a cocktail that embodies the class of a martini without the “Sex and The City reruns. Sauza® 901®’s “Last Night” cocktail is a great alternative for a hint of mystery and suave.

        Last Night
·         2 parts Sauza® 901® Tequila
·         1 part Maraschino Liquor
·         1 part Green Chartreuse® Liqueur
·         1 Part lime juice

Preparation: Combine all ingredients. Shake well. Double strain and serve in a martini glass.

Old Fashioned
You love the classics but maybe you need a little edge. Sauza® 901®’s take on the traditional cocktail changes things up to appeal to a younger crowd looking for something a bit more sophisticated than a Red Bull and Vodka – try “The Contemporary.”

The Contemporary
·         2 parts Sauza® 901® Tequila
·         ¼ part agave nectar
·         2 dashes Angostura® bitters
·         2 dashes Angostura® orange bitters
·         Orange peel for garnish

Preparation: Combine all ingredients in mixing glass.  Stir well. Pour over ice in a rocks glass. Garnish with a piece of orange peel.

Now that you’re prepped and ready for the biggest trend for the New Year, mix these up!
All drinks were created by Sauza® 901® Tequila’s mixologist, Eddy Buckingham.
