Cocktails for American Horror Story: Freak Show

Ladies and gentlemen, guys and gals, AHS viewers of all ages!   Now announcing Sauza Tequila’s performance in the latest season of American Horror Story: Freak Show!

You’ve watched all season long and experienced first-hand the dual personalities of Bette and Dot, the fame-hungry Elsa, and Jimmy’s need for normalcy. With one episode left, the plot is as thick as Ethel’s beard!

Can’t get enough of this season’s troupe of curiosities?  Take a seat and watch this week’s finale unfold with a show-inspired cocktail.

Lobster Claw Crush
This tequila take on a Bloody Mary has a fun garnish that will also come in handy as a post-cocktail snack

·         7 parts tomato sauce
·         1 squeeze of Sriracha Chili Sauce
·         3 dashes fresh black pepper
·         2 dashes Worcestershire sauce
·         Dash of celery salt
·         Dash of paprika
·         Dash of cumin
·         Juice of 1 lemon
·         2 olives, for garnish
·         1 lobster claw, for garnish (optional)
Preparation: In a shaker filled with ice combine all ingredients. Shake well and pour into tall glass over ice. Garnish with olives and a lobster claw (optional).

Twist-tea the Clown
A classic, refreshing drink that will take you back to 1952

  • 1 black tea bag
  • 4 parts water
  • ¼  cup sugar
  • Sprig of fresh mint for garnish

Preparation: In a medium saucepan bring water, tea bag and sugar to a rolling boil. Stir until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let sit for 15 minutes. Remove tea bag and pour into a glass with lemon. Cool sweet tea in refrigerator for several hours. When the tea is cool, add the Tequila. Pour over ice and garnish with a lemon wedge and a sprig of mint. Enjoy!

Bette & Dot
Just like the twins, this drink combines two different personalities – sweet and spicy – for one delicious margarita

·         1 part frozen limeade
·         2 parts pineapple juice
·         1-2 dashes chipotle hot sauce
·         Chipotle peppers for garnish (optional)

Preparation: Combine all ingredients in a shaker filled with ice. Serve on the rocks and garnish with a chipotle pepper.

Jupiter Juice
Warm and sunny, with a dark twist, just like the famed city where Freak Show takes place

·         2 parts Sauza® Blue Reposado 100% Agave Tequila
·         2 parts orange juice
·         2 dashes grenadine
·         Lemon wedge for garnish

Preparation: In a glass filled with ice, stir together orange juice and tequila. Pour the two dashes of grenadine down the side so that it settles to the bottom of the glass. Garnish with a lemon wedge. Enjoy!

Review: Funko Pop!: 'American Horror Story: Coven'

Based on the third season of American Horror Story, Funko has released the Coven in all its glory in Pop! form!

First up, we have the HBIC, Fiona Goode.

To make her even more of a badass, Hot Topic has spattered her with blood!

Next up is her daughter and current Supreme, Cordelia Foxx.

Hot Topic has an exclusive of her, too, and it's an eyeless, eerie representation of this great character.

The sculpt on this figure is spectacular and I think she is the prettiest Pop! I've seen yet.

New Orlean's resident Voodoo Queen, Marie Laveau, comes complete with her albino snake and all the attitude of her character.

Myrtle Snow, the mousy but devious and complex head of the Witches Council is perfectly accurate to the show.

Stevie Nicks' biggest fan, Misty Day, is colorful and detailed, just like her character on the show.

Reis O'Brien designed and sculpted  the entire AHS line. I am OBSESSED! Follow him on Instagram and Twitter @ReisOBrien

The Coven plus Rubber Man (check out his review here!) on display.

Review: Funko Pop!: Rubber Man from 'American Horror Story'

The first Pop! released from American Horror Story in my area is Rubber Man, from the first installment of the creepy, hit anthology series on FX.

Painted to look like shiny black latex, this is an AWESOME Pop! and very representative of the Murder House of Season 1. I love all the details of this vinyl figure; there's even "ear bumps" on the sides of the Pop! which really gives the feel that there is somebody zipped into the skin-tight sex suit. (I'm going to pretend that it's Ben, because there's been no Pop! announced of him yet sadly.)

I can't wait til the remainder of the series becomes available!
