Fans of The CW’s Girlfriends, take note. The long-running sitcom canceled last February has a new home on television at the women-oriented cable network WE.

Beginning on Monday, October 6, the series will air weekdays from 12pm to 1pm EST. And to celebrate the addition of Girlfriends to the network’s lineup, WE plans to give viewers a little something extra on the big premiere day: a four-hour marathon later that night, starting at 6pm EST.

Sarah Michelle Gellar to star in HBO series!

Sarah Michelle Gellar is ready to slay TV viewers again.

The erstwhile vampire slayer is set to return to the small screen — no, not as Buffy — in a new HBO series, Variety reports.

The Wonderful Maladys, developed by Charles Randolph for the actress, will focus on a trio of dysfunctional siblings still reeling from the loss of their parents at an early age.

Gellar's character is described as having "a kind of zealous immaturity — like a drug addict with a to-do list."

The duo will also serve as executive producers on the half-hour series, to be shot single-camera style. Filming will begin in early 2009.

'Hounddog' starring Jill Scott movie trailer

Jill Scott plays Big moma thornton in the drama taking place in the 1960s American South.
The story revolves around a troubled 12-year old girl who finds solace from an abusive life through blues music.
Blues music is delicately woven throughout this touching film to create a colorful tapestry of a melancholy life that finds release and healing through the music of Elvis Presley, whose character appears in the movie, albeit briefly, and the singing of the Blues.

Keesha Sharp addresses end of 'Girlfriends'

As the writer’s strike came to an end, so did the abrupt end to one of the most successful sitcoms of all time. After enduring years of waning publicity, a switch to a new network and the departure of a major character, GIRLFRIENDS entertained and encouraged audiences for almost 8 seasons. Without a series finale planned, Keesha decided to address all of you with a personal message about the end of GIRLFRIENDS:

From Keesha:
“As a fan of GIRLFRIENDS, I was very saddened by the news that the world would never get to see closure for one of the most important television programs of our time: a show with African American women as the driving force.

As a cast member, I will very much miss playing Monica and all of the changes she has gone through for 6 seasons.

As I prepare for life after GIRLFRIENDS, excited for what God has planned for me, I want to thank all of you for your loving support. YOU made GIRLFRIENDS the success that it was and I hope to see you again really soon as an intriguing new character.

Officially I also wanted to give a big thanks to the creators, producers, cast, writers and crew. It has been a great experience to work with all of you! God Bless You!”

Beyoncé & Justin Timberlake to collaborate on B's new album

>>>
Beyonce's New LP, Featuring Justin Timberlake, Due November 18
Two tracks, 'If I Were a Boy' and 'Single Ladies,' will be released in advance of album.

While details have been largely kept under wraps, some information has emerged about Beyoncé's forthcoming, still-untitled third solo LP, which is slated for release on November 18 on Music World Music/ Columbia.

Justin Timberlake will appear on the LP, although further details on his involvement were not available at press time. The two sang together on a cover of the 1968 Marvin Gaye/ Tammi Terrell hit "Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing" at the Fashion Rocks concert in New York last weekend.

Timberlake told reporters outside the show, "I'll be in the studio this week with Beyoncé. Who knows what will come out of that?" according to MTV News U.K.

Beyoncé co-wrote or co-produced all the material on the album, which the label says comprises "her most personal, reflective and revelatory collection to-date."

Songwriter/ producer Sean Garrett (Mary J. Blige, Usher, Fergie) revealed to MTV News on the VMA red carpet that he's been Beyoncé's album. "I got to get a big secret out: Beyoncé!" he said. "I just finished some incredible records with her. She's probably going to be mad at me for telling you all — sorry, B!"

Producer Jim Jonsin (Lil Wayne's "Lollipop," T.I., Danity Kane) reportedly worked with the singer on the song the track "Beautiful Nightmare," which leaked earlier this year, although it was unclear at press time whether the song will appear on the LP.

Two tracks from the album, "If I Were a Boy" and "Single Ladies," will be released in advance of the LP on October 7, according to the label. Beyoncé filmed a video for an undisclosed song in New York on Thursday.

Beyoncé also has two films in the works: She appears as legendary singer Etta James in "Cadillac Records," which does not yet have a release date, and the wife of a man being stalked in "Obsessed," due early next year.

Sara Bareilles to be featured on Holiday Album

>>>
In the year of the female singer-songwriter, Epic Records and Hotel Café have partnered up to release Hotel Café Presents Winter Songs – a compilation of both original recordings as well as classic holiday tracks sung by a lineup of female singer-songwriters including many who have been associated with Hotel Café including Sara Bareilles, Ingrid Michaelson, Brandi Carlile and KT Tunstall. The star-studded album, which will be released on October 14 will also feature an exclusive medley of the traditional folk song, “Auld Lang Syne” from which all proceeds on U.S. sales will benefit Susan G. Komen For The Cure.

On making Hotel Café Presents Winter Songs, singer Sara Bareilles had this to say, "I honestly never thought I would ever be on a Holiday album, but when the idea of the Hotel Cafe putting one together came about, I was really excited. I was honored to be a part of a compilation showcasing the incredible female talent at the Cafe, and Ingrid Michaelson and I wrote a song specifically for this project. I'm really looking forward to sharing it. The entire album will be incredibly beautiful."

Included on this unique album are five incredible original recordings starting off with a stunning recording of “Winter Song,” a gorgeous duet of which Sara Bareilles co-wrote and recorded with Ingrid Michaelson. Other originals include, “The Heartache Can Wait” which Brandi Carlile penned, “Misletoe” from Colbie Caillat, “All My Bells Are Ringing” from newcomer Lenka, and the sassy “Maybe Next Year (X-Mas Song,)” sung by Meiko.

Jill Marie Jones answers survey

>>>
Jill Marie Jones, who stars in "The Perfect Holiday."
Book I’m reading: "The Measure of a Man" by Sidney Poitier

Total number of books I own:
About 80... 50 or so novels

Three books that mean a lot to me:
"Flowers in the Attic" V.C. Andrews (This is when I fell in love with reading. I was around 12, and my mom would’ve died if she knew I was reading a book with such adult content... I loved it!)
"The Joy Luck Club" by Amy Tan. I loved the stories of these women and their daughters; I learned so much about myself reading this book and I called my mom after and told her how much I love her and we sobbed for hours. It was great.
"My Life" by Bill Clinton

Last film I saw:
"American Gangster," directed by Ridley Scott

Three films that mean a lot to me:
"Imitation of Life," directed by Douglas Sirk. Although the original with Claudette Colbert (1934) is great, I prefer the Lana Turner 1959 version... I love it! It’s my favorite movie of all time!
"Scarface," directed by Brian De Palma
"The Color Purple," directed by Steven Spielberg
Ok... and my fourth is "Pillow Talk," directed by Michael Gordon *

Who do you think is the best actor in Hollywood at the moment? (male or female)
Cate Blanchett

Who do you think was the brightest star of the silver screen?
It’s hard to pick one, but I’ve always loved Bette Davis

Who do you look to for inspiration?
My mother- she’s not in the business but she knows how to raise a good kid

Three songs that mean a lot to me:
"All the Way," Frank Sinatra. Favorite song ever (would dance to it at my wedding)
"Lost Without You," Robin Thicke. Beautiful love song from a man to his woman.
Anything by Tracy Chapman

Concert that changed your life:
New Edition. I don’t know if it changed my life, but it started a huge crush that lasted way too long *

Guilty pleasures
* TV: "I Love New York"
* Film: sappy romantic comedies
* Reading material: at the airport I do enjoy buying Harlequin novels
*Web sites: Youtube
* YouTube video: Dick in a Box

Best hangover remedy?
A Corona first thing in the morning.

What's the biggest upside of the Internet and what is its biggest downside?
Upside: information is in abundance/ everything at your fingertips
Downside: no one picks up the phone and talks anymore (more impersonal)

What advice would you give to someone trying to break into your profession?
First of all, I would say be very clear on what you want in this business and push forward; and I also believe that from Joe Schmo to Brad Pitt, training is important so study study study...

What helps you get out of bed in the morning?:
Someone I deem wise told me once there are two reasons why one gets out of bed in the morning: something or someone to love, and aspiration... and I believe that

Who was your celebrity crush growing up?
Prince

What’s more dangerous: a mountain lion or a bitter ex?
I would have to say a mountain lion because I don’t have any bitter exes- I’m friendly with all my exes... I think it’s crazy to share so much of yourself and time with someone and all of a sudden you wake up one day and it’s like all that time never existed.

Would you rather see a Lakers game next to Jack Nicholson or a Knicks game next to Spike Lee?
Although I love LA, I would have to say the Knicks- one of my best friends of over 20 years played for the Knicks for several seasons, and c’mon it’s Spike Lee...

What is the single worst purchase you’ve made in the past year?
I’m not a girly- girl when it comes to shopping, but the lovely people at Barneys sweet talked me into a Barney’s charge card...SO bad *

Five people who I'd like to see answer this survey:
Barack Obama
Sidney Poitier
Common
Prince
Terrence Howard
