Sara Bareilles interview, confrims "Gravity" as 3rd single! + BUY new DVD today!

She's only on the second single from her gold-certified "Little Voices" album, but Sara Bareilles is thinking about her next release "all the time."

"I've done some writing for it," the singer-songwriter -- whose "Bottle It Up" is following the chart-topping success of her first single, "Love Song" -- tells Billboard.com. "I have some songs ready to go. I'm thinking about the songs that didn't make it on the first record to try and include a couple of those as well."

Bareilles -- who's performing the new songs "August Moon" and "Little Voice" (yes, it didn't make it onto the album of the same name) at her shows -- is also bracing herself for the pressure of following up her current success.

"It probably will be equally as challenging as the first record," she notes, "because... it's a blessing and a curse that there may be some set of expectations now. But it's a good problem to have. I'm definitely lucky to be in that position.

"I'm just hoping to feel as proud of this next record and as connected to it as I did the first. The first one is so autobiographical, I'm just hoping the second one can expand on what's been put out there and just go a little deeper."

Bareilles will be going a little deeper into "Little Voices" before she goes into a recording studio again, however. A third single, "Gravity" -- the album's oldest song -- is on the runway, while she has U.S. and European dates booked into late November. "It'd be nice at some point to get to a place where you can relax a little bit," she says, but she adds that lament "is not a woe-is-me story."

"If I've learned anything from this whole experience it's just that it's a total roller-coaster," Bareilles says. "The more you kind of succumb to the fact, that it's just gonna be ups and downs and totally surreal and kind of weird, the more you can just kind of enjoy it. This whole experience has been one big, pleasant surprise."

PRAYER CIRCLE: Jennifer Hudson's family tragedy :(

This is really tragic... What a sadness.

The mother and brother of Oscar-winning actress and onetime American Idol finalist Jennifer Hudson were found slain in their home on Chicago's South Side on Friday, the apparent result of a domestic disturbance, law enforcement officials have said. Police also said Hudson's nephew was missing from the scene. As of Saturday afternoon the 7-year-old had yet to be found, and the FBI is now involved in the search.

"We can confirm that there is an ongoing investigation concerning the deaths of Jennifer Hudson's mother, Darnell Donerson, and her brother, Jason Hudson," publicist Lisa Kasteler told CNN." Kasteler said she would release no other information about the deaths.

Police told the Chicago Tribune that one suspect in the double homicide — William Balfour, who is married to but currently is separated from Hudson's sister, Julia — was in custody and was being questioned, but had yet to be charged. Records from the Illinois Department of Corrections obtained by the AP show that Balfour, 27, is on parole after spending nearly seven years in prison for attempted murder, among other crimes.

Balfour's mother has denied that her son was involved in the shootings or the disappearance of Hudson's nephew. "I didn't raise no murderer. He's no child abductor. They have the wrong person," the Tribune quotes Michele Balfour as saying Friday night. "All I want is for whoever has Julia's son to bring him back."

Authorities released an Amber alert for Hudson's nephew, 7-year-old Julian King, who was believed to be traveling with the suspect but has since gone missing. Described as 4-foot-11 and weighing 130 pounds, he last was seen wearing a striped polo shirt and khaki pants. The FBI on Saturday became involved in the search for King, since he may have been taken across state lines if abducted.

The Cook County medical examiner's office identified the two victims as Hudson's 57-year-old mother and 29-year-old brother. Deputy Police Chief Joseph Patterson said the bodies were discovered around 3 pm Friday, when a relative found the body of a female shot to death on the living room floor. That relative called the police, who found the body of a male shot to death in a bedroom.

Hudson rose to fame when she was notably voted off American Idol's third season earlier than expected. She won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2007 for her role in Dreamgirls, and was recently seen in the big-screen version of Sex and the City.

Beyoncé reveals a little more about new album + NEW Dereon picture & event!

Music World Music/Columbia Records is releasing I AM…SASHA FIERCE, the new full-length double album from the international superstar and cultural icon Beyoncé on Tuesday, November 18.

"The new record is a double album and has two covers, like a magazine would have two covers," Beyoncé revealed. "One of the covers is named I AM… and the second cover is named SASHA FIERCE. That is my alter ego and now she has a last name. I have someone else that takes over when it's time for me to work and when I'm on stage, this alter ego that I've created that kind of protects me and who I really am. That's why half the record, I AM…, is about who I am underneath all the makeup, underneath the lights, and underneath all the exciting star drama. And SASHA FIERCE is the fun, more sensual, more aggressive, more outspoken side and more glamorous side that comes out when I'm working and when I'm on the stage. The double album allows me to take more risks and really step out of myself, or shall I say, step more into myself, and reveal a side of me that people only know me see."

One of 2008's most hotly anticipated new album releases, Beyoncé's new album is the artist's first new studio collection since the Grammy-winning multi-platinum-selling B'Day debuted at #1 on charts around the world shortly after its international release on September 4, 2006 (in celebration of Beyoncé's 25th birthday).

Beyoncé's fans got their first taste of the two sides of I AM… SASHA FIERCE with the simultaneous release in early October of "If I Were A Boy" (from I AM…) and "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" (from SASHA FIERCE).

Songs on Beyoncé's I AM… include "If I Were A Boy," "Halo," "Disappear," "Broken Hearted Girl," "Ave Maria," and "Satellites." Beyoncé's SASHA FIERCE performances include "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)," "Radio," "Diva," "Sweet Dreams," and "Video Phone."

I AM…SASHA FIERCE is Executive Produced by Beyoncé Knowles and Mathew Knowles for Music World Productions, Inc.

HUGE Beyoncé album news!

Details about Beyoncé’s upcoming album, due in stores Nov. 18, have been hard to come by until now. But yesterday, the singer's father, Matthew Knowles, unveiled the complete tracklisting for members of the press in Hollywood, and even played a few minutes of each song and afforded details about promotional plans. First, it’s a 17-song double-album. However, if the economy has you looking to save a few bucks, you can instead buy a condensed 11-song single-CD version; both editions will go on sale the same day.

The first disc in the deluxe package is on the balladic side, while the second disc focuses on more upbeat, rhythmic material. What’s more, the two discs have separate titles. The first one is dubbed I Am… Beyoncé. Papa Knowles said the name of the second disc will remain a secret for now and revealed in connection with an upcoming promotion; he would only refer to it as “I Am dot-dot-dot.” Rumors suggest that the name of the second disc will be I Am... Sasha, the name Beyoncé has given herself in the past as an alter ego. (If you want to take a wild guess at what kind of promotion Knowles is alluding to, there’s already a contest-laden teaser website, whoissashafierce.com, that may offer some clues.)

Despite rumors of collaborations with Kanye West and Justin Timberlake, there are no guest stars on the new album. Beyoncé’s dad said this was a purposeful choice designed to spotlight the singer's growth without fellow celebs getting in the way. He did, however, allude to plans for a guest on the song "Ego" that fell through. Given the title and playful lyrics (“It’s too big/It’s too wide/It’s too strong/It won’t fit...He’s got a huge ego...I love his big ego”), one could guess this was the track designed for a West cameo, though Knowles demurred when asked what happened with the celebrated rapper.

The two-CD version will sell for about $4 or $5 more than the single-disc version, according to Knowles, who said the less expensive edition is aimed at meeting the demand for CDs priced under $10 these days. Knowles said they expect about a 50/50 split between sales of the two versions.

Two singles are being pushed simultaneously: I Am... Beyoncé's “If I Were a Boy” to top 40 and adult contemporary, and I Am...'s “Single Ladies” to rhythmic formats; “Halo” and “Ego” will be the second singles for those formats, respectively. (Urban adult contemporary radio, meanwhile, is about to be offered a Beyoncé single that isn’t even on her new album: the Etta James cover “At Last,” from the soundtrack of Cadillac Records, which hits stores Dec. 3 with three new Beyoncé tracks.)

Not enough Beyoncé developments for you? All right, here’s more: A video album of clips for every song -- much like the DVD she did for her last album -- will arrive in February, about the same time as a Spanish-language version of the new set (not to mention still another Beyoncé movie, Obsessed). Then she kicks off a 110-date tour in April, starting in Canada before going on to Europe, the States, Mexico, South America, and a week-long stint in Vegas, before wrapping up in Japan, Africa, and Australia.

As for the new record, Daddy Knowles said 70 songs were recorded over eight months, but only 17 lucky tunes made the cut. Here’s a full listing, along with the individual producers (Beyoncé gets her own producer credit on each number, naturally, as well):

Beyoncé clears rumors of album pushback

I wanted to address my fans about my upcoming album.

I have worked on this album for close to one year. I have taken the time so I can create my sound. Something that says who I am at this stage in my life. I have poured my heart and soul into it. It is my baby. It is the most time I have spent on any project since my first records as a member of Destiny’s Child when I was 15 years old.

I have recorded over 70 songs and have created a sound that reveals all of me. I am in a different place right now and I wanted people to see the many sides of me. The music is upbeat for the dance, fun side and it is reflective, passionate and serious for the personal side. I have taken risks here. I am not afraid and my music will explain it all. There is no label or tag on my sound. It’s me and I am so excited to share it with the world on November 18.

Love,
Beyoncé

Beyoncé & Solange to have a song together on B's new album!

BlackVoices.com has learned exclusively that the eagerly-anticipated opus will feature a new collaboration between Beyonce and Solange.

"I actually wrote a record for her, 'Why Don't You Love Me?' and I'm so excited," Solange revealed backstage while Beyonce was taking the stage. "It's kind of a twist to it. It's not a passive, whiney, 'Why don't you love me?' [song]," she furthered. "It's basically like you're a fool if you don't love me because I'm fly, I'm smart, My money's right and I don't need you for nothing and therefore you should love me."

Sara B's DVD due on Oct 28th + Trailer

Check out the trailer for the Sara Bareilles DVD "Between The Lines: Live At The Fillmore", due in stores October 28th (the same day as Girlfriends Season 5!):

Sara's new DVD, "Between the Lines: Live at the Fillmore", comes out Oct 28th (Blu Ray 11/11) and you can see the trailer here. In addition to a complete LIVE show, the package includes exclusive acoustic performances, and an intimate behind the scenes view of Sara and her band as they prepare for their first headlining performance at the iconic Fillmore Theatre in San Francisco, CA. The package will also include a bonus CD of the full length concert.

"Between the Lines" is exactly that. It is not only a concert DVD, but a film that shares what happened backstage and in the days surrounding our Fillmore show. This is very much a personal portrait of who I am and where I am from, including a performance in Sausalito with some of my best friends... all against the beautiful backdrop of my Northern California Coast. - Sara
